Autumn is when another kind of life begins to reveal itself.
As vivid colours begin to fade, fallen leaves, bare branches, and the traces left by earth and fire slowly reveal a quieter, deeper sense of life.
This autumn, we want to gather these subtle changes.
For the season, we present a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Wu Jingwen, together with a special Ikebana Workshop in collaboration with Ikebanist Artist Zo Chen, taking Wu’s vessels as the starting point.
Wu Jingwen’s works retain the natural textures and traces of clay. Shaped by hand, each piece slowly takes form through fire and time, becoming an object that can be touched, used, and made part of everyday life.
And when vessel and plant meet, another form of life begins to emerge.
Working with fallen leaves, branches, and seasonal materials, Zo will respond to Wu Jingwen’s vessels through Ikebana. Rather than celebrating flowers at their fullest bloom, we turn our attention to the quieter side of autumn—to colours and forms as they begin to fade, and to what remains: withered leaves, curling edges, bare branches, each carrying a life of its own.

The workshop offers a selection of three handcrafted vessels by Wu Jingwen.
Beginning with a vessel of your choice, Zo will guide you through observing the lines of branches and leaves, and exploring the relationship between plant materials and vessel. Using seasonal materials, each participant will create an Ikebana arrangement of their own.
At the end of the workshop, both the vessel and your completed Ikebana arrangement are yours to take home.
