Chen Gengtao graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Xi’an University of Science and Technology in 2011.

In 2013, he founded Geng Zao, a studio dedicated to creating handcrafted wooden objects and furniture. The philosophy of Geng Zao is “handcrafted creation, simple living.” Every piece is carved by hand — natural, simple, and gentle. More than just craftsmanship, Geng Zao represents a way of life — one that resists the pace of a fast-food era and refuses to compromise with mass production. Geng Zao aspires to create each object with care, to be used and cherished for a lifetime.

All wooden pieces are crafted from high-quality Burmese teak and walnut, preserving the wood’s natural grain and warm texture.

Each piece is strong, durable, and carries a sense of timeless beauty.
